On November 15, I set out to replace the anchor atop "Peels of Laughter" at San Ysidro. A few weeks prior, a misguided individual had pounded on one of the 2 anchor bolts using a hammer. The hammer-wielding individual irreparably damaged one of the two anchor bolts which I subsequently pulled. In an effort to clean things up and place 2 new anchor bolts, I set about trying to remove the remaining bolt.
My method was simple. I was going to simply tighten the 1/2" wedge bolt with increasing amounts of force. Given enough force applied to the bolt by a wrench, the bolt should have eventually sheared off flush with the rock.
